Heading up to the north shore of Oahu, just past this bridge is where the pipeline begins |
The Banzai Pipeline, a surf reef break, is located off Ehukai Beach Park in Pupukea on Oahu's north shore |

This is where the big waves live within the Hawaiian island chain |
The wave action starts to pickup after a windy morning and blown-out surf |
Not much wave tunnelling happening at this time, but some nice big waves forming |

Looking back down the beach there's a little barrel action |
Lifeguards on constant standby, this area is notorious for its huge waves breaking in shallow water just above its sharp and cavernous reef |
A small set holding its form near the beach line |

              |
There are three main breaks here, each increasing in size and intensity the further away from the beach you get, this day is pretty calm |
            Loving the cloud formations |

            Local wildlife |
Always wanting to be part of the action |
Another local cruising the parking lot |

Up the beach on this day seems to be producing some nice consistent rights |
            Fish out of water |
Making the most of a late afternoon |

              |
            The takeoff zone |
              |

            Out in front |
              |
            Test of balance |
The last hour of sunlight and still lots of surfers in the water |
              |
Taking the last ride of the day all the way to the shore |
